Join UCCCB at ICCC15 in Braga: June 12-16, 2023

We are thrilled to announce that the UCCCB – University of Coimbra Bacteria Culture Collection will be present at the 15th International Conference on Culture Collections (ICCC15) that will take place from 12 to 16 June 2023 at the University of Minho, Braga, Portugal. The ICCC is a regular conference organised by the World Federation for Culture Collections (WFCC), which represents 832 culture collections from 78 countries and regions, and collectively preserved more than 3.3 million microorganisms. ICCC15 has as its motto “Exploiting Microbial Resources to Support Social Wellbeing” and this is the first time ICCC will be held in Portugal. Aligned with the motto of ICCC15, Prof. Dr. Paula Vasconcelos Morais, Director of UCCCB, will be delivering a compelling presentation on day 12 entitled “UCCCB – Centre for microbial conservation and the development of bio-based solutions”. Moreover, on day 16, Dr. Diogo Neves Proença, UCCCB curator, will present the cutting-edge work “The UCCCB collection as a resource for bacteria PHA producers’ genetic diversity assessment”. We hope to meet you in Braga to share knowledge, experiences, and collectively explore the boundless possibilities of microbial resources for the betterment of society.
