UCCCB participates in the E-Waste World 2025
The UCCCCB was present at the E-Waste World Conference & Expo 2025, one of the largest European events dedicated to the circular economy and e-waste management, which took place between June 10 and 12 in Frankfurt (Germany), where it presented its innovative contribution to the recovery of valuable metals from e-waste. The coordinator, Prof. Paula Morais, made numerous strategic contacts with potential international partners and clients, demonstrating the high level of interest generated by the technology developed in Portugal.
This participation reinforces the active role that the UCCCB can play in a rapidly expanding area that seeks to reuse critical raw materials from electrical and electronic equipment, batteries, photovoltaic panels, among other waste. The need for integration between urban, primary and secondary mining was one of the most debated points during the conferences that ran in parallel with the exhibition.
The sessions also highlighted the latest global trends and European regulations in the sector, highlighting the growing collaboration between industry and research centers in the search for sustainable solutions to the problem of the exponential growth of electronic waste. “E-Waste World 2025 demonstrated that there is a global market that is attentive and eager for technological solutions capable of transforming waste into valuable resources. We are proud to bring national innovation to the center of the green and digital transition,” said Prof. Paula Morais.
